Social Distancing after Return to Work

On September 22, the Ministers of Health, together with the Federal Minister of Health, decided that persons who have not been vaccinated against COVID will no longer receive compensation payments as of November 1, 2021. This regulation will then apply nationwide. In the event of an officially ordered quarantine, only vaccinated persons or those for whom individual medical reasons speak against vaccination will then receive a payment to compensate for the loss of their earnings.

The Conference of Health Ministers is thus increasing the pressure on people to get vaccinated against COVID. If they do not do so, this can lead to financial losses in the event of a quarantine. The ministers’ resolution explains that sufficient quantities of vaccine have been available for weeks and that all those willing to be vaccinated can be vaccinated nationwide, at low cost and without waiting times.
